Kootenay home sales post strong year-over-year gain in September

“2016 will be a nine-year high for home sales in the region, and the strong monthly sales figures that began back in February have yet to slow signs of slowing,” said Barry Benson, President of the Kootenay Real Estate Board. “While new listings are in tight supply relative to demand right now, and active supply continues to trend constructively down, there has still been a healthy enough amount inventory out there to keep prices mostly stable again this year.”

New residential listings numbered 349 units in September 2016. This was down 4.9 per cent year-over-year, this marks the lowest number of September listings since 2000.
