Summer Housing Market Continues to Sizzle

Here's what the BC Real Estate Association has to say about the July Real Estate Market. “Strong economic growth, an expanding population base and a lack of supply continue to drive BC home sales and prices this summer," said Cameron Muir, BCREA Chief Economist. "However, home sales have edged back 4 per cent since May, with active listings beginning to bounce back from a 20-year low," added Muir. Market Stats for July for Nelson Rural Properties

Things are looking good for sellers and buyers in the month of July for Nelson Rural properties. As you can see there the inventory last month is up from the previous month which means there is more properties are on the market to choose from. Solds are down by half but that may mean that folks are out enjoying our sunny and hot summer weather before getting back down to business and I suspect we will see an uptake in the number of solds again as we move into the fall market. Market Stats for July 2017 for the City of Nelson

The Nelson market is continuing to heat up along with the temperature with 21 new listings in the month of July, slightly over June's total of 19. This brings the number of active listings overall up to 49 for July, also up over June's total of 41. 12 listings were sold this month compared to 16 in June. Going into the first half of the summer, it appears that July has been a very active month for new listings and sales.
